One of the biggest barriers to getting reviews live on a Shopify store is the assumption that it requires a developer. With Revova's theme blocks, that's not the case. You can place a full review widget, a star rating on collection cards, or a homepage carousel in under ten minutes — entirely inside the Shopify theme editor.
Five blocks, Five jobs
Revova ships five distinct blocks, each designed for a different location on your storefront. Understanding which one to use where is the first step.
- ✓Product Reviews — the full review list with star summary and 'Write a Review' button. This belongs on your product page template.
- ✓Star Rating — a compact aggregate rating and review count for product cards in collection pages and the homepage.
- ✓Review Carousel — a horizontal scrolling showcase, ideal for homepages and landing pages where you want social proof without a full review list.
- ✓Review Photo Gallery — displays customer-uploaded review photos in a scrollable gallery or grid layout. Clicking a photo opens the full review it came from.
- ✓Q & A — lets customers submit questions about a product directly from the product page. Store owners can reply from the Revova admin, and answered questions are displayed publicly for future shoppers.
Installing the Product Reviews block
Open your Shopify Admin and navigate to Online Store → Themes → Customize. Select your Default product template and click into the main product section. Click + Add block, search for Revova, and select Product Reviews. Drag it below the product description — most merchants place it just above the footer. From the right panel you can switch the layout between list, grid, and carousel, configure reviews per page, and toggle the verified buyer badge and helpful votes counter. Hit Save and it's live.
Adding star ratings to collection cards
This is the highest-leverage placement most stores skip. Showing an aggregate star rating directly on product cards gives shoppers social proof before they ever click through to a product page. Navigate to a collection template in the theme editor, find the product card block group, click + Add block, and choose Star Rating by Revova. Drag it below the product title. You can optionally show the numeric review count alongside the stars — '4.8 (62 reviews)' does more work than stars alone.
Setting up the review carousel
For homepages, the carousel is the right tool. It surfaces your best reviews without overwhelming the page. Add it as a new section, then choose whether to pull reviews from a specific product or your top-rated reviews store-wide. Set how many cards are visible at once — two to five on desktop, with mobile automatically collapsing to one.
Widgets automatically inherit your theme's fonts and colours. If you need further tweaks, use the Custom CSS field in Settings → Widget inside the Revova admin.
A fifteen-minute setup order
If you're setting up fresh, do it in this order: Product Reviews block first (it's the most critical), then Star Rating on collection cards, then the homepage carousel. Each one is independent — you can add them in separate sessions and go live as you finish each one.
